So, I haven’t posted for a long time. Here’s a new From Above contest.
The groundrules are simple:
1. Identify the Methodist-related location pictured in the clip — a piece of a Bing Maps Bird’s Eye View.
2. Post a LINK to the Bing Maps Birds Eye View of the location as a comment to this blog entry. (With the image you want in Bing Maps on your browser, click the Envelope icon in the lower left of the screen, copy the long address that appears, and paste it into your reply to this post.)
First person to do both of the above wins near-eternal, but very trivial, glory.
Here’s today’s image:
One more clue, besides the caption: I have stood on the deck in the picture and gazed at one of the major mountains within the bounds of our Annual Conference.
This one, by the way, is a United Methodist Church in the Pacific Northwest Conference. Seriously, now, Paul, it shouldn’t take you this long, even with jet lag.
for our christmas present, more clues, please.
the mountain was to the northeast, more or less.
hmm. hawaii was easier. this is apparently in a major metro area, as the resolution is good on the image. if you look for something like darrington or randle, the bing image disappears as you get closer, since the satellite didn’t spend very long looking there. so it must be a seattle area church, if the mountain is to the northest, and there are too many of those. you need someone who has lived there who would know this. i’m giving up for now. sorry. merry christmas.
I gave up because I thought someone else would jump on the bandwagon and identify this place. But too many sleepless nights bring me inexorably back to it. Where is it? Wes, will you leave us hanging in ignorance all the way into next year?
Okay, Paul, this is your final clue: CMU dleifegdiR.
Uhhh…. uh…. uh….. Oh, boy, this is hard….
Let me make a wild guess….. Ridgefield UMC?
